National Weather Service officials were expecting a slight chance of thunderstorms Wednesday with temperatures in the mid 80s before dropping to the low 70s in the night hours.
There was a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon with cloudy conditions before officials expect the sun to break through with a high of about 86 degrees.
Officials said showers and thunderstorms are possible mainly after 4 a.m. Thursday. The chance for showers was expected to increase to 60 percent Wednesday evening.
Current conditions at O’Hare International Airport is mostly cloudy at 84 degrees. Farther south at Midway Airport conditions are similar at 82 degrees.
