Westville man dead after motorcycle wreck in Center Township

A Westville man died in an early morning motorcycle crash Friday in Center Township, officials said.

The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 20 in the area of Indiana 49 and County Road 600 North, according to a release from Sgt. Ben McFalls, public information officer for the Porter County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers found the man lying in the grass, breathing but unconscious. He was transported to Northwest Health-Porter’s Valparaiso emergency room where he later died.

The Porter County Coroner’s Office has identified the man as Edward Naymon, 33. Toxicology reports are pending.

According to an initial investigation by the sheriff’s department, Naymon’s 2008 Yamaha motorcycle was southbound on Indiana 49 when an unknown reason, the motorcycle went down near the intersection with County Road 600 North.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
