Destinos: The seven-week Chicago International Latino Festival continues with the North American premiere of “El Brote,” an Argentinian show by Compañia Criolla that follows an actor who has trouble discerning what’s reality versus fiction. Black Arts Month Kick-off: Head to the Black Ensemble Theater for an evening featuring Black artists across artistic disciplines, and an opportunity to network within the Black arts community. Andersonville Arts Weekend: The North Side neighborhood will transform into a “walkable art gallery,” as more than 100 artists offer their genre-spanning work. Chicago Sukkah Design Festival: Kick off your Sukkot celebration early with the opening of the Chicago Sukkah Design Festival. The festival aims to foster cultural solidarity among the Jewish community that historically resides in North Lawndale and the Black community that lives there now. Visit five sukkahs, small pavilions built for the Jewish holiday through partnerships between local organizations and architectural designers.
