Sunday in the Park with Lyric: The Lyric Opera takes over Millennium Park Aug. 25, starting with a child-friendly Art-See Jamboree. Storyteller Jasmin Cardenas will interpret “Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World,” an upcoming production for the Lyric’s Opera in the Neighborhoods program. The event also includes opportunities to create art, take photos and get free gift bags. An open dress rehearsal for the day’s main event, “Sunday in the Park with Lyric,” will start at 2:30 p.m. followed by the formal performance at 7 p.m. Lyric music director Enrique Mazzola will conduct, and the show will feature favorites from the 2024-25 Lyric season as well as artist-in-residence Karen Slack.
