What to do in Chicago: Pride Fest is this weekend, plus dragon boats and Justin Timberlake

Chicago Pride Fest: Featuring performances by Natasha Bedingfield, JoJo Siwa and Sapphira Cristál, the 23rd annual Chicago Pride Fest lights up the Northalsted neighborhood. The festival offers live music on three stages, drag performances, dance exhibitions, youth programming, guest speakers and a pet parade a week before the 53rd annual Pride Parade. 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Halsted Street from Addison to Grace; suggested donation $15. More information at northalsted.com

Black LGBTQ+ Beach Day: Celebrate pride on the beach, as DJ Rae Chardonnay spins at a free party on 63rd Street Beach. Free healthcare services will also be offered. Noon to 7 p.m. June 22 at 63rd Street Beach; free tickets at eventbrite.com

Kumbia Queers: Take the pride party west to Belmont Cragin, where Argentina’s Kumbia Queers will keep you dancing to their brand of cumbia — what they describe as “1000% Tropi Punk.” Presented as part of a free 10-week concert series sponsored by the International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago. 2 p.m. June 22 in Riis Park, 6100 W. Fullerton Ave. More information at latinoculturalcenter.org

Dragon Boat Race for Literacy: Chinatown hosts the Dragon Boat Race for Literacy, supporting local reading programs and promoting Asian culture. Time trial races begin on the South Branch of the Chicago River at 8 a.m. Saturday, followed by an opening ceremony and lion dance at 9 a.m. Dance, martial arts and other performances also run throughout the day. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 22 in Ping Tom Memorial Park, 300 W. 19th St. Free; more information at chicagochinatown.org

Long Grove Strawberry Fest: It’s the height of strawberry season and Long Grove will be serving them up every which way. Families can also enjoy pie-eating contests, carnival rides, magic, crafts, live music and more. Noon to 11 p.m. June 21, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. June 22 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 23 in downtown Long Grove, near 145 Old McHenry Road; tickets $5-$10 (rides extra) at longgrove.org

Justin Timberlake: Though he was in the news earlier this week for an arrest on D.W.I. charges in the Hamptons, the pop star is still slated to play two nights in Chicago on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. Following on the March release of his album “Everything I Thought It Was,” it’s Timberlake’s first major tour in five years. 7:30 p.m. June 21-22 at the United Center, 1901 W. Madison St.; tickets $75-$575 at justintimberlake.com

Gamer’s Universe: If you’re young and gaming is your thing, head to Harold Washington Library Center this weekend for Gamer’s Universe. The convention features the opportunity to play new games, compete in tournaments, cosplay and participate in game design. Organized in collaboration with the Chicago Teen Gamers Guild, the only conundrum is how to fit everything into just one day. 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 22 at Harold Washington Library Center, 400 S. State St.; register (all ages) at chipublib.org

“The Devil is in the Detours”: Consider the 112th mainstage revue at Second City. A Tribune review called it a stylish show and highlighted its gutsy, don’t-mess-with-us crew bent on skewing capitalism. Open run at Second City Mainstage, 1608 N. Wells St.; tickets $47-$101 at secondcity.com

Nick Thune: The Seattle native brings his deceptively low-key brand of absurdist comedy to Zanies Rosemont. Careful listeners will be rewarded. 7:30 p.m. June 20, 7:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. June 21-22 at Zanies Rosemont, 5437 Park Place, Rosemont; tickets (ages 21+) $30 at nickthune.com

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band: The Grammy Award-winning Dirty Dozen Brass Band hits the stage in Evanston, with its genre-crossing blend of jazz and funk funk. 8 p.m. June 26 at Space, 1245 Chicago Ave., Evanston; tickets $30 at dirtydozenbrassband.com
