Why can’t Johnny swim? Chicago parents say cost of lessons, lack of time and lack of access are barriers

Chicago parents shed light on why their children can’t swim. According to a new survey by Lurie Children’s hospital, the cost of swim lessons, as well as lack of time and inability to find lessons contribute to the problem. In the survey, 46% of parents said their kids have never had lessons.
