A woman was fatally stabbed in a residence in the Lincoln Square neighborhood Saturday night, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Police responded to the 2700 block of West Balmoral Ave. around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, authorities said they discovered a 29-year-old woman with a stab wound to her torso. She was transported to Saint Francis Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
After further investigation, authorities found that the victim was allegedly in a physical fight with a 35-year-old man. The 35-year-old then stabbed the woman and fled the scene. Police say that the suspect is in custody and charges are pending.
