Woman, 37, fatally wounded overnight from gunfire outside in Roseland neighborhood

A 37-year-old woman was fatally wounded overnight when gunfire from outside veered into her residence in the Roseland neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, the victim was inside a residence in the 10100 block of South Aberdeen Street when she was struck to the chest by gunfire from outside. police said.

She was taken  to Advocate Christ Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
