At just before 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, a 58-year-old woman was fatally shot while inside a vehicle at a gathering in North Lawndale.
Multiple gunshots were fired from an alleyway in the 3900 block of W. Ogden Avenue, and a bullet struck the victim in the neck.
She was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.
No one is in custody. Detectives are investigating the incident.
