Woman critically injured in ATV crash near Ingleside

A woman was critically injured when the ATV she was driving with two children on board crashed into a tree near Ingleside, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.

The children, boys ages 7 and 11, sustained minor injuries. The woman, however, a 25-year-old Lubbock, Texas resident, was transported to a hospital in critical condition with head injuries, police said.

The accident happened at about 5:20 p.m. Monday in the 27000 block of Chris Larkin Road. The woman, with the two boys, was driving the ATV in circles in a yard when she apparently lost control and ran into a tree.

The ATV, a 2021 Can-Am Outlander G2, rolled on top of the boys, who were quickly freed by onlookers. The boys were brought to a hospital for evaluation.

The accident remains under investigation.
