A man is in custody in connection with the death of a woman who was fatally injured during what is being described by police as a “domestic-related” incident in Elgin.
Officers were called to the 1300 block of Fleetwood Drive about noon Tuesday and found the victim, who was taken to an area hospital and later died, an Elgin Police Department Facebook post said.
The woman’s name has not been released pending positive identification by the Kane County Coroner’s Office.
Police have not disclosed the nature of the victim’s injuries, what led to them, if they were accidental or intentionally inflicted, how the man in custody is connected to the victim or if charges might be forthcoming.
