A woman was in police custody Wednesday evening after authorities said she stabbed three young children in the wrist at a South Side home.
The stabbing involving the children, a 1-year-old girl and two boys, ages 3 and 5, is believed to have occurred about 5:45 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Harvard Avenue.
The children were taken to St. Bernard Hospital in serious condition before being transferred to Comer Children’s Hospital, police said. After the children were taken to St. Bernard, police encountered a 33-year-old woman and took her into custody, believing she stabbed each child in their right wrist with a sharp object, police said.
Police did not provide the relationship between the woman and the children as Wentworth Area detectives continued their investigation.
