Woman in good condition after falling several feet from CTA train, cops say

A 35-year-old woman was reported in good condition after she fell several feet from the CTA tracks overnight on Lake Street in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, the woman was attempting to open the door of a moving train in the 3100 block of West Lake Street when she fell onto the tracks, and then fell another 15 to 20 feet and landed on the bed of a pickup truck underneath, police said.

The woman suffered a fracture to the left leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was listed in good condition, police said.
