Woman in good condition after suffering smoke inhalation from a burning dumpster overnight on the Near West Side

Chicago firefighters responded to a call overnight for service on the Near West Side and found a burning dumpster next to a building where a 57-year-old woman suffered smoke inhalation, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to a call for service in the 1500 block of West Van Buren Street and found a dumpster on fire next to a building, police said.

A woman who suffered smoke inhalation was taken to a local hospital as a precaution and was listed in good condition, police said.

No further injuries were reported.
