Woman involved in Wednesday crash dies at hospital, Naperville police say

An 88-year-old woman critically injured this week in a car accident at 95th Street and Plainfield/Naperville Road has died, Naperville police said.

The crash occurred about 11:10 a.m. Wednesday when a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica headed southbound on Plainfield/Naperville Road struck a northbound 2007 Dodge Caravan as the driver was making a left turn onto westbound 95th Street, the report said.

The victim was a passenger in the Caravan and later died while at a local hospital. The driver was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

Police did not release the name or hometown of the victim or say whether any charges have been filed.

Traffic crash reconstruction specialists closed portions of Plainfield/Naperville Road and 95th Street for more than four hours Wednesday so an investigation could be conducted.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to the police department’s traffic unit at 630-420-8833.
