A Yorkville man was found dead on Friday morning after being trapped underneath a vehicle he was working on, officials said.
An initial investigation indicates that the man was working on his vehicle in the driveway of his home in the 1900 block of Banbury Avenue, according to a news release from the Yorkville Police Department. The vehicle began rolling backwards and trapped the man, officials said in the release.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said. Initial findings suggest the incident was accidental, but the investigation is ongoing, officials said.
The Yorkville Police Department responded to the incident at around 7:50 a.m. on Friday, according to the release.
The man’s identity is not being released at this time out of respect for his family, officials said.
