Kendall residents vote on county board, circuit clerk contests

Residents in Kendall County on Tuesday voted on a number of contests in the primary election.

In the Republican primary for three four-year seats on the Kendall County Board in District 1, the three highest vote-getters would move on to the November general election to face Democratic candidates Zachary Turnbow, Jamal Williams and Benjamin Schmidt, who ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.

According to unofficial final results from the Kendall County Clerk’s Office, incumbent Brian DeBolt received 31.70% of the votes, incumbent Scott Gengler got 28.44%, incumbent Seth Wormley received 24.34% and Brandon Beerup got 15.51% of the votes in the GOP primary in District 1.

There was also a Republican primary in Kendall County Board District 2, where the top two vote-getters would move on to the November election to face Democrats Zach Bachmann, an incumbent, and Savena Joiner, who were unopposed in the Democratic primary.

According to unofficial final results in the GOP primary in District 2, incumbent Dan Koukol received 44.84% of the votes, Diane Selmer got 29.91% and Claude Ainsworth received 22.44% of the votes.

In the Republican primary for Kendall County circuit court clerk, incumbent Matthew Prochaska got 60.70% of the votes to 39.30% for Kit Kuhrt.

No candidate ran in the Democratic primary election for circuit clerk.

The circuit clerk is a non-judicial officer responsible for all of the official records of the court filed in Kendall County, including child support, traffic, probate and criminal court cases.
